Like a high performance race car your body needs the proper grade of fuel for it to function optimally. Unlike a machine it constantly repairs itself rather than just wear out, so it also needs the proper building materials.
Grass fed is the best choice for your meats. Yes, it costs more but you also get more. First lets compare with the meat you find at most supermarkets. Those products commonly have water added, which boils off when you cook it and which you are paying for at the same price as the meat. They also routinely contain antibiotics and hormones which were administered to the animals to avoid losses due to illness and to make them grow faster. Organic and Natural meats are better because they do not contain these substances or pesticides, but they are usually grain fed.
Grain is not a natural food for cattle. In a natural state cattle graze on the open range rather than eat grains while confined in small spaces where they are also susceptible to contracting illnesses, hence the antibiotics.
Grass fed has the advantages of natural or organic but goes beyond. It has much less fat and usually less than 10% of it is saturated fat. While grain fed beef can have an Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio of more than 20 to 1 grass fed has a ration of 16 to 1, about the same ratio as fish. Grass fed beef is high in Conjugated Linoleic Acid which will help you loose weight. It is high in beta carotene, has 400% more vitamins A and E and there is virtually no risk of contracting Mad Cow Disease since the animals are not fed animal parts or products derived from animals.
